Conquered by Castile. The name of Fuenterrabía appears immediately after that of San Sebastián in the list of places in the Kingdom of Navarre conquered by King Alfonso VIII of Castile, as presented by the Toledo archbishop Rodrigo Ximénez de Rada [(cf. De Rebus Hispaniae, Book VII, Chap. XXXII, p. 172 of the 1793 Madrid edition)]. In the original Latin text, it is written Fontem Rapidum and, according to the Toledo codex of the same text, Fontem Rapitum, both in the accusative.
