Larrau Priory.

Finally, the last stage in Zuberoa led the pilgrim to Larrau or Santa Engracia. In Larrau, whose church preserves a Romanesque apse, there was a priory-hospital. The place where it was built, San Juan de Larrau, was donated in 1174 to the Benedictines of Sauvelade by Arnaud de Laguinge, "with all its territory, including the animal species of birds and fish that could be caught there ( Urrutib h ty, 1982).The pilgrim then crossed the Pyrenees through the Larrau pass and continued through the Salazar valley before reaching Puente la Reina.
