GEOGRAPHY (NATURAL REGIONS)

Saint-Palais or Biduze region. It is also a natural basin whose axis is the river Biduze and its centre is the land of Amikuze with Saint-Palais as its capital. Its headwaters are located in the Arballa massif. It also includes the country of Irisarri, the valley of Ostibarre and the valley of Arberoa. Of all this beautiful land in Bajonavarra, it is the cereal-growing area par excellence and the intensive livestock farming area. It is here that the cooperative organisation Lur Berri has emerged, which runs and controls almost all of the farming in the Basque Country's ultra-pastoral areas. This region of Donapaleu is less rugged. And you can see long hills sown with corn until you lose sight of them. Saint-Palais has the beauty of its river -Biduzey, one can sense in a thousand details the Béarnaise neighbourhood and that of the lands bordering the Adour.
