FRANCISCANS

Saint-Palais: The Franciscan convent of Donepaleu (B. Navarra) was established on May 5, 1851, dedicating itself to teaching. That year, Fr. José de Areso, from the Olite convent, moved to the head of a group of Franciscans, to Saint-Palais, and establishes it in Cagots street, called Mahatho. On November 16, 1880, and by virtue of the decrees of March 29, he must leave said house, but he returned shortly after. The Franciscans of Mary Immaculate settled permanently in Saint-Palais after 1864, running the nursing home, which was at the same time a hospital-clinic.
