Gayarre Garjón, Sebastián Julián

On June 23, 1883, Gayarre arrived in Roncal. He writes to his friend Julio Enciso, who later wrote the classic "Memories of Juli n Gayarre" and who lived in Bilbao, inviting him to his house in Roncal, to the Tribute of the Three Cows and to visit the Basque Country of ultraports. Enciso made the trip to Roncal and with Gayarre went up to the Ernaz party, a tough horseback ride from Isaba, some twenty kilometers, with the ascent to Puerto Grande and the crossing of the rugged Larra go-karts. Julio transcribes the full Act signed by authorities and witnesses in this order: Miguel Ignacio Garc s, Jos Garc s, Felipe Ezquer, Melchor Labari, Javier Erl s, Fernando Urzainqui, Olivier Jacques, Bouneu Pierre, Diego Irigoyen, Juli n Gayarre, Gregorio Garj ny Barrena, Marias Garj n, Secretary. Until Bouneu Pierre, it is the authorities of the Roncal valley, which receives the tribute. They spent happy days in the town of Gayarre, with excursions to the high mountains, fishing for tasty trout, theater performances, and necromancy in which Enciso and Gayarre demonstrated their skills before the people of the town. At the beginning of August, on horseback, they crossed the Pyrenees, arriving at Tardets, in Zuberoa, at nightfall. They toured the towns of Zuberoa and Baja Navarra. Then the coast, Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz. Then to the fiestas in Bilbao, to Enciso's house. On the morning of August 23, 1883, Gayarre made a will in Bilbao. The illness in Naples had made him meditate.
