Gayarre Garjón, Sebastián Julián

In July 1882 Gayarre, in keeping with his word, went to Pamplona. Taking part in the concerts that were projected in the Navarrese capital. The reception was extraordinary. "Pamplona was crazy and electrified by Gayarre". Gayarre, Sarasate, Zabalza, Guelbenzu took part in the concerts, and maestro Arrieta conducted Chap's Fantas a morisca. Gayarre had called his entire family from Roncal who arrived with his father at the head. He spent a few happy days. Pamplona vibrated before that artistic conjunction of the most illustrious sons of Navarre. After the Fermín festivities were over, Gayarre went to spend the rest of the summer in San Sebastian Irún. In the latter he received the news of his father's seriousness. He still arrived in time to see him expire in his arms. He had an oil portrait of the deceased made and placed it in his room in Roncal.
