Peace of Briones, March 31, 1379. This peace was signed in desperation, with Charles chewing on his hard humiliation and bitterness. Castile imposed its conditions with force. Tudela, Estella, San Vicente, Larraga, Leron, Miranda, etc., were given as ages to Castile for 10 years. Charles promised not to marry any of his children to English princes. Tudela was handed over to Prince Don Juan on April 22, 1379, who demanded that same year (June 29), already being king, the handing over of the rest and the denaturalization of its inhabitants, something that took place on July 29 of the same year. During the course of this war, the double election of Urban VI, by Rome, and of Clement VII, by Avignon, took place, thus beginning the Great Schism in which Charles did not want to take sides.
