A Gipuzkoan economist, born in Zarautz in 1943, he was Director of the Business Division of the Caja Laboral Popular (Popular Labor Fund); author of the Diagnostic Report on the Basque Economy (1982), he directed the business policy of cooperatives. He later settled in a farmhouse where he dedicated himself to sheep farming and cheese production, with the objectives of improving the Latxa sheep and creating the Idiazabal Designation of Origin. The Regulatory Council of the Idiazabal Cheese Designation of Origin was established on April 15, 1987; he was its first president.Xabier LASALLE
