Writer in Basque and translator born in the farmhouse or Naberansakone of Gautegiz-Arteaga (Bizkaia) in 1941.
At the age of 12 he went to study at the seminary in Derio (Bizkaia). He was ordained a priest in 1966. After taking part in opposition activities to the Franco regime, he was imprisoned in Zamora prison. During the seven years he spent in confinement he graduated in History and took the opportunity to study languages. Afterwards he worked for many years in the teaching department of the AEK coordinator, dedicated to teaching Basque to adults. Since 1988 he has been a member of the Kalegana translation firm in Bilbao. Among other authors, he has translated into Basque D. Hume, T. Hobbes ( Leviathan ) and Herodotus.
In 1998, Naberan published the essay Sugearen iraultza (Gaiak), in which he investigates ancient history and myths. Naberan believes that ancient civilizations were not based on pillage and war, and that they were not patriarchal; and that this is the model that should be proposed for the future. Another of the book's axes is the criticism of neoliberalism and the defense of traditional values of the Basque farmhouse. The Spanish version of this work was published in 2001: La vuelta de sugaar (Basandere).
