Tomás Yerro wrote about his essay Basque Culture of Height : %u201CFirst of all, I want to express my deep satisfaction at having approached such a personal and valuable work. I have liked many single pages for their sensitivity and beauty of style, especially those of the first chapter, whose memorialistic and more intimate character represents an adequate portico for later reflections. Unusually, I was surprised by his intellectual serenity when approaching the study of isolated artists and Basque culture in general, an attitude that contrasts with the sectarianism of so many current views. I also underline his absolute independence of criteria, which leads him to reflect against the current regarding various manifestations of Basque culture. The observations on jatorras and borrocas are not wasted. And the same can be said of the %u201CBasque School of Resentment%u201D.

It seemed to me as a whole, a unique and very meritorious book, a mixture of literature, anthropology, aesthetics and, above all, love in abundance towards the land itself, without thereby incurring in impoverishing chauvinism. For the good of the Basque Country and its people, not just its artists, many jobs like yours will still be necessary.%u201D
