Íñigo Aizpiolea is an accordionist and composer from Irun, Gipuzkoa, recognized for his work as a solo performer and in accordion duos, as well as for his efforts in promoting contemporary music for this instrument. His career is primarily based in the Basque Country and focuses on classical and contemporary music.
In 1996, Íñigo Aizpiolea won the Young Performers Competition (Interprete Gazteen Lehiaketa), an award that boosted his career as a solo accordionist. In 2001, he recorded an album with fellow accordionist from Irun, Iñaki Alberdi, with whom he debuted as a duo at the Granada Music Festival in 1998. He was a finalist with the group "Arrebato" in the First Cycle of Emerging Performers of the Irun Music Foundation. He has also been a member of the Gipuzkoan chamber quartet "Ensemble Oiso Novis," in which he plays the accordion (2002).
Aizpiolea has performed numerous concerts in various cities and festivals, both in solo recitals and in duos or other chamber formations. His musical activity covers classical and contemporary repertoire, contributing to the presence of the accordion in concert halls and specialized festivals.
In addition to his artistic career, Íñigo Aizpiolea has been involved in management and representation within the musical sphere, participating as a member and representative of associations connected to the accordion and Basque music.
