Rower from Guipúzcoa born on 8 March 1967 in Orio. A member of the Orio Olympic Rowing Club, he came sixth in the 1985 World Junior Championships and second in the 1986 European Under-23 Championships (Hamburg), ing his performance the following year (Aiguebelette, France) in both cases in the coxless four. He won the European Under-23 title in Antwerp, which earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1988 Seoul Games. In 1989, he again won silver in the coxless four (Antwerp) at the European Under-23 Championships. At the national level, he won three gold medals in rowing: two with coxswain (1988) and two without coxswain (1996 and 1997). He also achieved brilliant results with the Orio rowing team: La Concha flag, 1996 and 1997; Spanish champion, 1995, among others.
