GEOGRAPHY (GIPUZKOA: HYDROGRAPHY)

River Bidasoa. It rises in Navarre, in Izpegui, at an altitude of 710 metres. Its upper course as far as Mugaire is called the River Baztán. It only takes the name of Bidasoa when it enters Bertizarana. Some geographers, for convenience, call it Bidasoa from Izpegui, in Errazu. It enters Guipúzcoa at Endarlaza, passes through Behobia and Irún and flows into the bay of Txingudi, Endaya and Fuenterrabía. In its short nine-kilometre journey through Gipuzkoa, it has received the Behobia, Artiga, Meakas and Zubi-muxu streams in Irún, and the Urdanibia and Santa Grazia in Fuenterrabía.
