Rallo Sagarzazu, Xalba

Tenor, singing teacher and choir conductor, born in Biarritz, on February 15, 1963.

He received his first musical education from his mother, Guadalupe Sagarzazu, in the bosom of a family with a great musical tradition, continuing them at the Conservatory of San Sebastian, 1974-1977. Conservatory of the Liceo of Barcelona, middle grade 1983-1986. Sarasate Superior Conservatory of Pamplona 1996-1999 Superior grade.  Centre Musique Medievale of Paris. 2015.

Among his teachers are Francisco Escudero, Cecilia Fontdevila, Carmen Arbizu, Dom Saunier, Catherine Sargent.

From 1982-1983 director of the choir Enara of Irun. 2nd prize in the International Contest of Habaneras and Polyphony of Torrevieja, Spain 1983.

His professional life has been dedicated almost exclusively to the development and consolidation of the Easo Choir. Fundamental reference in the folklore and traditional songs of Euskal herria. He has been the sub-director since 1989. In 1992 he was appointed director of the choir and from 2005 general director.

In addition to promoter and founder of the Escolanía Easo (1992), Gregorian Choir Easo (1995), and the Easo music school.

The creation of the Araoz Women's Choir (2006) and the mixed choir Cum Jubilo, which brings together singers of all ages, deserve special mention.

In these almost 30 years he has given more than a thousand performances, combining his choral conducting responsibilities with teaching and being the director of the music school.

In addition to maintaining, reinforcing and making known the folklore of Euskalherria, he promotes the choral symphonic repertoire and opera.

He has taught the singers of the Easo Choir, the monks of the Leyre Monastery, the music school of the Easo Choir and the Choeur Anaiki in Paris.

He has participated in numerous editions of the Quincena Musical. Donostiarra, as well as in multiple seasons of Abao, Agao, EOS, and BOS.
