Aizkolari from Navarre, born in Ezkurra in 1949, who lives in the Azkaretea farmhouse in Zubieta. He was a junior champion in 1967 and a second category champion two years later. This is how he began his challenges with the top figures, achieving a place in the absolute category. Within this category he was champion in 1977 and then regained the title again in 1980 and has triumphed since then in all the championships held, the seventh on 6 April 1986 in super-txalpeldun condition with a display of authentic courage. He cut the twelve Irati beech trunks in a time of 34 minutes and 11 seconds, which is better than the record of 1985.
