Arantza Mancisidor Mendizbal, born in 1948 in Ormaiztegi (Gipuzkoa), is an internationally renowned dramatic soprano. Daughter of Baltasar Mancisidor and María Mendizbal, she is the fourth of six siblings. Her artistic career began as a member of the "Trò Anaiak" with her brothers José Luis and Dionisio Mancisidor. This group gave concerts in various Basque towns and made recordings for stations such as Radio Segura and Radio Loyola.
Mancisidor began his musical studies at the Bayonne Conservatory (France) and completed them at the Bordeaux Conservatory, under the direction of Ren Coulon, a distinguished professor of Italian and French descent. His talent was recognized with the Unanimous First Prize from the Bordeaux Conservatory, awarded by a jury that included prominent figures such as members of the Grand Opera de Paris. He also received the First Prize in Singing from the city of Agen-Aquitaine and the Extraordinary Prize from the Association of Friends of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux.
Her solo career has led her to perform excerpts from iconic operas such as Norma (Bellini), Turandot and Madama Butterfly (Puccini), and Mephistopheles (Boito), among others. Her performance in Madama Butterfly was particularly notable, moving the director of the Bordeaux Theatre. She has also appeared on national and international television programs, including Televisi n Espaola and Euskal Telebista.
Mancisidor also coincided with great figures such as tenors José Carreras and Plácido Domingo at the Barcelona International Competition.
