Pelotari, son of the champion Joseph Laduche, was born in Ascain on July 13, 1955. At the age of seventeen, he won the Open Cup in trinquet, playing with Elissalde. In 1974, he earned the title of amateur world champion in Montevideo. He soon moved on to the independent category.
