Nicol s Goena Garmendia, certified castrator. Son of Juan José Goena Mugica and Mar a Josefa Garmendia Mugica, he was born in Beasain (Gipuzkoa) on August 11, 1848. [1] .
He married Juana María Urquía Arana in Beasain on May 2, 1876, and the couple had thirteen children, two of them, Pedro and Leoncio, prestigious veterinarians.
The professional publication " La Veterinaria Española" , professional and scientific journal , continuation of the Eco de la Veterinaria , official organ of the societies La Unión Veterinaria and Los Escolares Veterinarios , directed by Mr. Leoncio F. Gallego and published in Madrid, in its number 477, corresponding to October 20, 1870 [2] , publishes a School Statistics which includes the list of students revalidated in the Zaragoza School of Veterinarians of second class, of Castrators and of Farriers of cattle, among which appears our protagonist with number 7 of the registry of Castrators, to whom the title was issued on June 15, 1870, after having paid the 80 escudos corresponding to the fees.
He developed his professional activity in Beasain and the Goierri region.
