Basketball coach. After coaching Atlético de San Sebastián, he went on to coach in France, where he achieved notable successes. In 1975, he returned to Gipuzkoa to coach Dicoproga, a team made up of former Dom Bosco players. He secured the team’s promotion to the top flight and continued in his quest to professionalise basketball in Gipuzkoa to make it truly competitive at national level. In 1978, he took charge of training at the first Basque basketball club, Askatuak of San Sebastián, which had emerged (1977–1978) from Dicos, itself a successor to Dicoproga. Gasca stood as a candidate for president in the last elections held for the Spanish National Federation, although his role was considered largely symbolic. His differences with Saporta appeared to have been resolved, as he had agreed to collaborate with him on the organisation of the 1986 World Cup. He died in Donostia-San Sebastián on 7 December 1982.
