Borja Álvarez, Antón

Professor and economist born in Bilbao (1945). Graduated in Industrial Engineering, his vocation was training, initially working as a teacher in different Vocational Training centers and later at the University of the Basque Country after receiving a doctorate in Economics. Attached to the Department of Applied Economics I, he worked mainly in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, but also in the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, Chemistry and in the Experience Classrooms.

Scholar of the relationships the educational world and the productive field, the pedagogical and educational , industrial policy, innovation policy, the economic crisis that began in 2008, and Basque economic sovereignty. .

Solo author of Relations training and employment: technical-professional education in France, Italy and Great Britain (1990) and Euskal Herriko ekonomiaren historia (2010). He participated to a greater extent in collective works such as Employment Insertion and Search (1992), Euskadi-Aquitaine Cross-border Cooperation. Political, economic and International Relations aspects (1994) , The construction of the Basque-Aquitano space: a multidisciplinary study (1998), Euskal Herria: year 1000, year 2000 (History, economy, ecology and culture) (2000 ), Euskal Herriko ekonomia (2002), Collective action hegoalde-iparralde (2006).

He collaborated with numerous political, social, union and media organizations. He died in Bilbao in 2015.
