Doctor born in 1935 in Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa).
He studied medicine in Zaragoza, where he graduated; he specialised in surgery at the University of Valladolid.
He has practised as an internal doctor in the provincial hospitals of Zaragoza and Gipuzkoa, as well as in the Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu hospital in San Sebastián. He has been head of surgery at Osakidetza and head surgeon at the Azpeitia bullring.
He has published the following books: Eating and drinking, sources of health 1985; El arte de comer y beber: cocina vasca, salud y placer 1993; Salud y cocina 1997. He publishes articles in various cultural media. Writes in Basque in the Nafar-Izkuntza section of the Diario de Navarra. Collaborates with Radio Euzkadi with a weekly programme on nutrition and health. Contributor to ETB. He has given numerous lectures.
