A priest born in Segura in the province of Gipuzkoa, he moved to New Spain (Mexico), settling in the city of Valladolid in Michoacán, where he was a prebendary of the cathedral. With the first law expelling Spaniards in 1827, he had to leave the country and return to the Basque Country, where he died in the Carmelite convent in Lazkao (Gipuzkoa) on 10 April 1831.
