Se asienta en una zona constituida por conglomerados, calizas arenosas, margas y areniscas rojas. Al N. de la localidad aparecen terrenos de micritas arcillosas y limosas. Al E. de la misma encontramos también terrenos de aluvial formados por el río Omecillo.
