Buque de la Compañía Vasco-Cantábrica de Navegación. Botado en Gran Bretaña en 1888, pasó a poder de esta naviera en 1899 en que fue comprado por Eduardo Aznar. En 1920 fue construido otro similar que llevó el nombre de Uribitarte II.
