Teniente coronel de la Guardia Civil, de origen vasco, que como miembro del PSOE tuvo una destacada participación en la organizaciónde la Milicia de este partido en la Guerra Civil de 1936. En 1937 fue nombrado jefe del Servicio de Información Militar (SIM).
