Nombre antiguo de Zaragoza que se atribuye a los iberos. Junto al Ebro y frente a la «arboleda» de Macanaz en la otra orilla. En euskara roncalés se le llama Zaltu, que también significa «arboleda». De ahí el posible parentesco de Saldu-ba y Zaltu.
