El río Saison nace en Zuberoa y recibe ese nombre a partir de la confluencia de los ríos Larrau y Uhaitzandi hasta las inmediaciones de Mauléon, donde recibe el nombre de Gave de Mauléon, para desembocar en la Gave de Oloron, tributario del Adour.
