Ingeniero industrial vizcaíno, natural de Bilbao. Catedrático de Mecánica de Fluidos (1945) y director (1964-1973) de la Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de la capital vizcaína. En 1973 es nombrado rector de la Universidad de Bilbao.
