La revista Laurak-Bat se fundó como órgano del pacto vasco-navarro, nacido de una serie de conferencias celebradas en Altsasu (Navarra) hacia 1866 "para impulsar el patriótico sentimiento de reunir en estrecho abrazo a las cuatro provincias hermanas".
