NEW PHOENICIA

Name. In the same way that Spanish historiography had made Tubal its founder and made the Goths the backbone of its history (Gothic), in the same way that French historiography made the Franks descendants of the Trojans, Basque authors consecrated Basque-Iberianism and, above all, Basque-Cantabrianism, according to which the present-day Basques are the descendants of the Cantabrians of the Roman era. Garat, in turn, makes the Cantabrians a Phoenician colony, thus assimilating Phoenicians and Basques from pre-Roman times.
