Autonomismo. Durante la oleada autonómica de 1917-1919 el ayuntamiento de Mendavia comisionó en 1918 a Cirilo Martínez de Lecea para que en la anunciada asamblea de Pamplona «vote la derogación de la citada ley de 25 de octubre de 1839».
