Título nobiliario español concedido el 2 de marzo de 1869 por D. Carlos VII a Joaquín de Marichalar y Lapedriza. Reconocido como título del reino el 25 de febrero de 1955. En 1964 pasa a ostentarlo Joaquín María de Marichalar y Cotton de Bennetot.
