Antigua ciudad vascona capital de Lomagne que se ve citada en el Cosmógrafo de Rávena, Lacura, nombre que le aproxima e identifica con el nombre Lakora en el Pirineo roncalés-suletino. En la documentación alto- medieval aparece como Lactora. Lactorinsis urbis episcopus: obispo de Lectoure.
