Etimología. Se propone la forma latina monte acut)u, como en el pueblo navarro Monteagudo, pero en nuestro caso podría tratarse de palabra mixta en el caso Mendikute aunque se supone como forma más antigua la de Mendecute pero muy tardía (s. XVIII).
