Ganador de muchos concursos micológicos, entre ellos los de Tolosa, Galdakao y Vitoria-Gasteiz. Colaboró activamente en las primeras Jornadas Internacionales de Micología. Natural de Ordizia (Gipuzkoa) murió en accidente de automóvil en Uharte-Arakil (Navarra) en noviembre de 1968.
