Fundada en Baiona en el siglo XIX y renovada posteriormente, se ha constituido en un verdadero vivero de futuros artistas. En el Sindicato Intercomunal de Música que dirige el maestro Dessagnes, contaba con 750 alumnos y 30 profesores laureados por el Conservatorio Nacional de París.
