Nombre que recibe en los cronicones árabes una comarca denominada asimismo Badi-x-xarra. Podría tratarse de Val d'Ixarra, Lizarra o Izarra (Estella). Lacarra propone su identificación con Echaberri. En el año 924 pasaron por este lugar tanto Sancho I como Abderramán III.
