Título otorgado el 13 de junio de 1744 a favor de José Basilio Aramburu, sucediéndole a su muerte su sobrino Martín Aramburu, a cuyo favor se extendió carta de sucesión el 22 de agosto de 1758. En 1839 era conde Manuel José Zavala Acedo. Desde 1987 lo ostenta Iñigo de Verástegui y Cobián.
