Titulo nobiliario concedido el 14 de mayo de 1817 al Teniente General D. Manuel de Goyeneche y Barreda, Aguerrevere y Benavides. Le es concedida la Grandeza de España a dicho titulo el 3 de marzo de 1854. En 1952 pasa a ostentarlo D. Juan María de Goyeneche y San Gil.
