Título nobiliario concedido por S. M. Carlos V el 8 de julio de 1837 a D. Pedro de Gaztañaga y Ayesta. Es reconocido como título del reino en 1958. En 1972 pasa a ostentarlo D. Francisco de Cadenas y Allende.
