Antigua familia de origen bearnés. Uno de sus miembros fue el almirante nacido en Bayonne en 1773 y muerto en Lissa, a la cabeza de las flotas francesa e italiana. Los barones de este nombre habitaron en Biarritz (Lapurdi).
