Misterioso aventurero vasco del s. XVI. Lo llamaban «El Vizcaíno» y era capitán en la compañía de Gil González de Avila. Acompañó a Cortés en la expedición de las Hibueras y en el transcurso de ella fue ahorcado, víctima de las ambiciones y violencias desatadas entre los soldados.
