Militar que comenzó su carrera en Nueva España (México) en 1595 como soldado ascendiendo a capitán tras 26 años de servicio. Destinado en Nueva Galicia fue protector de indios chichimecos en la frontera de Valparaíso y solicitó la alcaldía mayor de Isla-Baca y Metepeque.
