Señor de Vizcaya (1334-1350) por su matrimonio con la heredera María Díaz de Haro II. Redujo a escrito las costumbres que en Vizcaya venían imperando en materias penales y de aprovechamiento de montes: es el cuaderno de 1342. Era hijo de Fernando de la Cerda y de D.ª Juana de Lara.
