De Amézaga y Zabala, Abraham

Writer, journalist and lecturer specialising in luxury and quality, born in Bilbao on 5 December 1974.

With a degree in French Philology, the fruit of his passion for the savoir-faire of Parisian artisans and French literature, throughout his long professional career he has published exclusive reports and interviews in more than thirty renowned publications (Elle, Glamour, Woman, El Mundo, Yo Dona, Gentleman, Citizen K, AD, Época, House & Garden...).

He has been fashion editor and correspondent in Europe for the Mexico and Latin America editions of the prestigious Vogue magazine for a decade (2006-2016), covering the most special and exclusive events in Paris, London, Milan and Geneva, among other places; as well as professor of the Master in Fashion and Beauty Communication Vogue-Universidad Carlos III (2010-2017).

For the past decade, he has been giving lectures in Europe and Latin America, mainly in Spanish, French and English, on luxury and the big names in fashion and know-how. From Paris to Buenos Aires, via Miami, San José de Costa Rica, Madrid...

He is the author of a study on Basques and fashion, published in RIEV (International Journal of Basque Studies), as well as of several books, including two biographies on the writer Elías Amézaga, whose grandson and secretary he was, and Inspiradoras, with a foreword by Lola Gavarrón. He also participated in the writing of the books-catalogue Balenciaga. De París a San Sebastián and Carta de amor a Cristóbal Balenciaga. Currently focused on quality, art and slow life, he writes for Gentleman, Port, Fuera de Serie and the newspaper El Correo, among other publications.
