Driver from Guipuzcoa, born in Errezil. He started out in the world of karting, later dedicating himself to the rallysprint modality. Guided by Andrés Vilariño, he specialized in mountain races at the wheel of a Speed Car with which, in his debut season, he won regional races in Palomeras and Berango, while he was second in the ascent to Arrate, making a qualitative leap in the National Mountain Championship, where he debuted with a victory in the Asturian ascent of El Fito. In his second national experience he signed two second places in Santo Emiliano. He was considered the only CM driver capable of beating the leader of the championship, Óscar Palacio, in the 2004 season. He became champion in the second edition of the ascent to Berango, the fourth round of the Basque Championship of this specialty, in July 2004. In the same month he was presented at the Olaberria circuit facilities as official driver of the BRC (Bango Racing Car) and was Spanish mountain champion in October 2005, with a double in Ibiza in the last two rounds of the championship; he set a new course record, after improving the previous one by three seconds.
