ÁLVAREZ DE TOLEDO Y BANDEIRA, Pedro

A priest belonging to the Prelature of Opus Dei, he was born in Vigo (Pontevedra) on 14 January 1951. He studied Secondary Education at the Colegio Apóstol Santiago in his home town, studied Philosophy and Theology at the Roman College of Santa Cruz (Rome), obtained his doctorate in 1974 in Educational Sciences at the "Istituto Internazionale di Scienze dell'Esducazione" (Rome), was ordained priest on 8 August 1976, and obtained his doctorate in Canon Law from the University of Navarre a year later. He has held the following posts: member of the Commission of the Colegio Mayor de la U.P.V. (1974-1976); director of the Colegio Mayor Abando in Bilbao (1975-1976); chaplain of the Colegio Mayor Santillana and of the Escuela de Hogar Las Peñas in Madrid (1976-1979); director of the Delegation of Opus Dei in Madrid-East (1980-1982); director of University Conferences (1974-1976) and of Philosophy and Canon Law Courses (1976-1980). He is also an active participant in congresses and meetings on priestly studies in Madrid and Pamplona; Vicar of the Delegation of the Opus Dei Prelature in Madrid-East (1982-1989) and, since 1989, Vicar of the Delegation of Pamplona.
