Archivist and historian from Guipuzcoa, born in San Sebastian on 22 June 1958.

He holds a degree in History from the University of Deusto. He furthered his studies in Madrid, Italy and Paris, graduating from the École Nationale des Chartes.

Head of Documentary Heritage for the Basque Government; director of IRARGI (Documentary Heritage Centre). Contributor to the Boletín de Estudios Históricos de San Sebastián and the Boletín de la Real Sociedad Bascongada Member of Eusko Ikaskuntza and Friend of the Real Sociedad Bascongada de Amigos del País. Coordinator of the Census of Basque Country Archives, published 1986 (Gipuzkoa) and 1988 (Alava and Bizkaia).

He is the author -among other studies- of La Familia Erquicia.... (1981), La República de los eruditos y los problemas del Método histórico (Donostia, 1984), El Archivo de los Condes de Peñaflorida in collaboration with Gabriela Vives Almandoz (Donostia, 1987), Guía para la reconstrucción de familias en Gipuzkoa.
