Loredan Act

A doctrinal document of Basque traditionalism drawn up in 1897 by a commission under the presidency of the pretender Charles VII at his residence in Venice. It was a response to the fundamentalist dissidence, then against the Carlist party. The aim was to return the party to unity by reconciling the two parties. The "Catholic unity", very fundamentalist, which was also adopted by the Carlist party, was emphasised as a basic principle. The defence of the "fueros and liberties" and adherence to the pontifical doctrine of Rerum Novarum in the social sphere were also vital.
